Thanks for the update, i really enjoyed that; I don't get to hear too much about what goes on at home; this week not too much happened; I'll let you know what we told our new president; he comes today.
Hello President Frandsen,
Glad to have you as a Mission President; I am Elder Simon Li from provo Utah, and I am in the Antioch 1st ward with Elder Esteban who is about to finish his last transfer. This week we focused on trying to add baptismal dates, and we weren't sure how we were going to accomplish that because we had a very small pool of investigators. We shotgunned (or started with two missionaries that had not been there prior) so we decided we would need to find a lot more investigators. As we started out the week, we set a goal for four. Working through the week and trying to use our opportunities to find.  We moved forward with the work, and through our prayers and desire to follow christ, we found six new investigators. We were blessed to find a four investigators through working with new part member families, and we found two through proselyting or door knocking. our goal is the same to add baptismal dates, but more towards progressing our investigators. we are happy and tired, but we also want to improve our studies; we've fallen sleepy due to tiredness. We love you and hope to meet you soon!
Yesterday, a chapel in Oakley got shot at; three people were injured.Yikes, some people have things hard on them.

Love you, writing a letter,
KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS

My week has been good with all the potentials we were able to contact this week; we had a good week, a lot of potential investigators fell through.
No' I'm good, I don't think I need anything; did you get my package yet? I have a friend coming over to Provo to bring the stuff. I have to write you soon but I've got to finish all my cleaning. This week has been the best ever. Just running out of time; ever, but it's good. Love you!

Elder Han is going home early; He had to leave for military service in Korea;( We're gonna miss him)
But hey, now I'm in the stake he left, and there are no asian people in Antioch.
So everyone thinks I am him! It's pretty funny.
Both of these sisters are gone from our mission now! Sister Lindsay finished her mission, and Sister Zhong is getting transferred to Salt Lake City for 4 and a half months!! Three other chinese sisters went from our mission as well; I guess they need more chinese for some special event in Salt Lake City! Exciting; hope you can check it out and say hi to Sister Zhong.

Elder Esteban is the nicest missionary I've ever met!! We are doing so well in Antioch, but it's stinkin' hot! and Ghetto! We are contacting a ton of people' and finding even more!! I'm learning so much from Elder Esteban, thank you!! The only concern I have is that we are getting extemely tired and busy because of the heat!! We are just exhausted at the end of the day, and we aren't really getting enough sleep! We are having a lot of quality oyms and finding great potentials; we have over five return appointments this week. The pool has just one investigator; and we are picking of the area steadily; but we are making great plans already! I have a question about recent investigators; one of them was XX and he was amazing; he was proactive and invited our investigators to act! He has lived the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but hasn't fully accepted the Church of Jesus Christ. Kinda worried he'll run off and start his own beliefs... But the question is how come he doesn't fully believe these things; about Joseph Smith and other things. The same problem came from our ward mission leaders wife who went less active while she was relief society president ten years ago. Is it fixable?

12 homicides in two weeks...No worries

Elder Esteban by the only graffiti art I've seen in my whole week. Antioch is full of gangsters and old people, but not many artists! It's pretty hot, and it's gonna get hotter with Elder Esteban going home in a month! It's about 100, and it starts to get hot around 8 in the morning! Antioch is pretty ghetto; in fact, it is the most ghetto I've ever seen. 12 homicides in two weeks in one area... saw two guys fight with hammers. pretty scary. I'm worried, but it'll be exciting and safe... No worries. Have fun with spring break, good to hear from you ma!

Elder Perry

Ahh, I didn't know about it until yesterday, and it is pretty unfortunate that Elder Perry died. Well I'm getting transferred, going to Antioch english speaking, my next companion is from salt lake, Elder Esteban. Love you, sending a package;)

Dear Son,
Last night in our family meeting, I asked Sam to share something about Elder L Tom Perry, he said "he's the only apostle I've met".  Yes, our family are connected to him that way.  He will always remain personal to me through that experience.
There's a common saying that goes "We don't realize what we have until they're gone."  That's how I feel about Elder Perry.  He was never like some other apostles or prophets that give touching and moving speeches; to me at times he appeared worldly or too practical.  But he's really a giant filled with characters of positivity and simplicity.  He had lived a very long life but he was still so in touch with us about the modern world and challenges that we deal with everyday.  I've been going back to listen to the highlights of his many talks.  This one stood out for me and I know it would be for you too.  He talks about how missionaries can make their mission last a lifetime, and how we can deal with stresses of life by living more simplistically.  Mostly I love this quote (below) extracted from this talk, that just says everything about you all missionaries - how you all are light to the world, not because of the shiny name tags and sharp looking suits, but your commitment to be like the Savior and bring His Gospel to His children.  I love you for being obedient and trying your best to serve the Lord, and I know you'll live a life full of blessings, as Elder Perry puts it, as you continue to practice what you learn and do on your mission for the rest of your life.
Love,  Mom
