Dad: Good job Elder that you are humble and the Lord will lead you by your hand and help with your weaknesses. Keep up the good works! Love your companion as you would have … remember D Elder Li: Hey paps, good to hear from you. It's been a while; but I still remember you;) I know my companion is always trying to help, but ya know, we hit patches sometimes. Gotta be prepared for the storms. Dad: You know it Elder Li. Just take the positives in life even though test and storms and trials will come, with the Lord, you can do all things...proud of you. The most important person to the Lord in this mission is YOU. Make sure you bring yourself back to Him and if you can help someone along the way, you have done what your Father wants you to do. |
Purpose
"He is the Gift" Initiative
Did Christ know what He would do before He did it? That He was to raise Lazarus, to walk on water, and be crucified? I think not, but He was to act in faith, to be blessed after a trial of His faith, just as we are. I cry in gratitude of the mercies and love of the Lord after my own eyes have been unveiled, But I cannot imagine the love Christ would have felt from his Father after such trust and faith. But that is something I want to feel, and I learn every day, little by little, to trust the Lord. I know that we all have righteous desires to know and serve God, so let us act in faith of what we know to be good.
Elder Lau told me an interesting Cantonese Saying today, it goes: Don't question whether or not to do a little good thing, for it is good; don't question not doing little bad thing, for it is bad" We know what is good and bad, from the fruit of our parents and from our time here on earth; let us Choose the Right! We can know what's right from the teachings of Christ (2 NEPHI 32:3)
Mission Leader
If you have desires to serve, there are callings to be served (D&C 4). I can testify that the Lord does qualify the incompetent, poor, and needy, specifically this man is an example of that. Because of his example, his family is now willing to be baptized; but because his parents work for the Government in China, they cannot be associated with the church.
