Even though it's kind of hard to take a lot of pictures of myself; regardless of my narcissism; I will try harder to see opportunities to take pictures of myself. Most of the time, we aren't supposed to take a lot of pictures in public to avoid looking like tourists.

First time in my mission that a chinese branch has fed the missionaries every day of the week!!! Absolutley crazY!! We ate so much; we even had two meals on thanksgiving!! UGHG
It was funny that on the day that I was relating the Messiah to a perfect steak (that you know a good steak by its good characteristics, a crisp crust on the outside, good cut of meat, and rare on the inside, only one Savior meets my taste, or the Lord's taste) that we get the biggest steak that I've had in a long time!!! It's exciting to do the missionary work in the Branch; we're finding progressively more inv! This week was amazing!!! We found out Elder Lawrence is coming to speak to our mission in December (and Elder Hamula is giving a Surprise MLC this saturday #nocents #soconfuse)
Temple day on Wed was AMAZING! We came early; and the needed witnesses for the Sealings! We did 15 daughter sealing, and then we had to run to get to our Zone session; but the young man that came to do proxy sealings asked if he could do one couple sealing since that was why he had come; to hear the ordinace that he had missed for seven years. Warmth Best day ever! I'm sorry, but I love taking photos; Twin Peaks is now one of my favorite pictues. Downtown San Francisco has some of the coolest architecture Haha; no we didn't go finding; that would be suicide; literally; someone got shot on the corner of the police station next to our building;) Plus, San Francisco is pretty much psychotic on Halloween, where everyone takes off the costume they've been wearing all year and just go nude. Haha, no worries mom; I stayed inside and cleaned our apartment which we share with two other elders!
What the heck is the deal with Sam and Marching band, i've never heard about any of these things; i feel so left out!!!! Ooo, Stake Conference; what did President Gagon Speak about? It's not always good to be busy, but I do think it's good to get things done. I don't know how to say that actually, but I would say you can spend differing amounts of time to do the same thing... I'm not worried about you not thinking of me, the feeling I recieve from your letters and messages is a hunger to speak with me. Which I am ashamed that I have not put more at the forefront of my thoughts and prayers; you truly are a Savior on Mount Zion, and I feel and speak of your love constantly, especially with my companion Elder Wong, who is from the same ward that Aunty Jessica is from. He loves them dearly and says they are one of the reasons he is still active and on a mission! I love him,and we're working really hard to improve my Cantonese!! What Friend did you talk to, and asked what Jesus said to those he healed? I see that as insightful and a treasure; I will research this, and it seems to go along with the promptings I've recieved as of late as i have sought direction on who I am and what I will do to serve all around me. I will try harder to do what you have told me, and i will do it! Got Emergency transferred to San Francisco with Elder Wong. Finally got to go to Chinatown!!!!! SO not in Oakland anymore... Elder Marcelo is with the other Elder Wong, so I guess Two Wong's make a right...
As you can see, we are extremely tired, went to bed at 11:30 last night, and we've been biking up and down the hills of the City. We love each other a lot; so the spirit is gonna be in A-bun-dance; and we are going to work hard!. I don't have much to write, I got here yesterday! But I hope you got my letters and Happy birthday Samuel!!!! Being on foot is the most rewarding workout of my mission; I love TIWI . JK My Cantonese is getting so much better (Mandarin has never been hard) and I just love Elder Wong and all the missionaries here. I love you all to and will try to send you all letters; just remind me your address and birthday!! Love you all very much:D Covering an area the size of Provo to Salt lake city is pretty tiring; but we're learning to work with it.
This week we had a great opportunity to celebrate Mid Autumn Festival. It was really touching to see all of my old investigators and members from the Branches; Elaine and the Union City Branch were all so happy and I missed them so much; I can't believe so much has changed in a year. I'm not so suprised that the area is rich with strong members; Elaine still hasn't gotten baptized but she brought her friend, who is now investigating the church because of Elaine. I love the members here!!! Also talked to this guy named Tyranny, or son of the Devil; he was nice, but didn't doesn't think God is specific to a religion; do what you please kinda guy. Sometimes I can be a little too challenging with people when they say that , but when I challenged Tyranny to Check out the Temple, he challenged me and pointed to the Buddhist Temple across the street, "those people chant all day some Chinese stuff, and I have no idea what they want. But they're dedicated; you're dedicated too, but as for me, *pointing to his shop behind him (marketing and commercial filming), this is my temple, and I make my own chants. Well, at least we had a good conversation. Oh, that is way Cool; I can't believe that you guys were so blessed to have another conference in preparation for the upcoming General Conference.! I'm glad you guys were able to celebrate Mid autumn festival; I'm really glad to see the pictures; Sam looks a little grumpy; a well, I'll write him. Mom, you sounded kind of tired; are you getting enough rest? I'm glad to hear the celebration, and find it a little funny that you and Jasmine puked on the way up, but I feel a little worried that the less I'm able to communicate with you, the more sick you seem to get. I know i've been pretty awful with writing you, but I just want you to know that I love you very much, and never want you to feel sick or bad; I simply am trying to write you more. Don't worry about me, the Lord will do what you cannot in your service, but you can do what you are able to with your strength, and very simply your strength is where you stand. Stand in high places. Catch my letter soon! I love the Rain!! How did you know I'd love these pictures!@!!! Aww, if only you had a picture of the new provo temple in the rain, without family in front of it!
So in Zone Conference, we get a wonderfully informative training from our Nurse, Sister Grimm, that let us know the upcoming flu season and how to prevent it all. It was really interesting and helpful, and I didn't remember any of IT!!!! It was pretty humbling to get sick the next day and having not tried to use any of it; it made me really think about the wonderful things around us that may just be neglected or simply passed, and that may have a huge role in our not too distant future. Thankfully I have a righteous companion who can bless me with heaven/s love, and I'm on the rise. ON a side note, also extremley chastised by this nurse who, from knowing missionaries here in Oakland/San Francisco, and our tendency to drift, commanded us to stop smoking. Ouch.
I don't know why I'm getting sick so often, but at least I'm happy! Oh how this week has been so rewarding; me and Elder Marcelo finally are working together!! Not like Elder Hibbert wasn't loved. |
